Giancarlo Esposito Joins Destry Allyn Spielberg’s ‘Please Don’t Feed The Children’
Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul) has been set for a role in Please Don’t Feed the Children, the thriller marking the feature directorial debut of Destry Allyn Spielberg. He joins an ensemble that also includes Michelle Dockery and former NFL tight end Vernon Davis, as well as Joshuah Melnick, Emma Meisel, Dean Scott Vazquez, Zoe Colletti, Regan Aliyah, and Andrew Liner.
Written by Paul Bertino, the film follows a group of orphans who head south in search of a new life after a viral outbreak ravages the country’s adult population, only to find themselves in danger. Jason Dubin (Who Invited Charlie?) is producing for Perry Street Films alongside Josh Kesselman (The Great) and Michael Hagerty (Old Henry). Altitude Films is repping international sales for the indie.
On Esposito’s hiring, Spielberg said, “What an honor it is to be working with such a respected and talented artist -Huzzah!”
Best known for portraying the terrifying drug trafficker Gus Fring on AMC’s Breaking Bad and prequel Better Call Saul, Esposito has also recently been seen starring on shows like The Mandalorian, Godfather of Harlem, Kaleidoscope, and The Boys. A five-time Emmy nominee who lent his voice to the acclaimed animated feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the actor has many an anticipated project looking ahead — among them, AMC drama Parish; Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen, inspired by his same=name film; the Russo brothers’ Netflix pic The Electric State; A24’s MaXXXine; and Francis Ford Coppola’s epic Megalopolis. The thesp is repped by Sugar23, CAA, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
