Michael Keaton Thriller ‘Knox Goes Away’ Lands At Saban Films, Eyes Early 2024 Release
Saban Films said Wednesday that it has acquired U.S. rights to Knox Goes Away, a thriller directed by and starring Michael Keaton. The pic, which bowed at this fall’s Toronto Film Festival, will aim for an early 2024 theatrical release in the U.S
Keaton stars alongside Al Pacino, James Marsden and Marcia Gay Harden, playing a contract killer with a rapidly evolving form of dementia. He is offered the opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of the adult son with whom he had been estranged. Suzy Nakamura, John Hoogenakker, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon and Lela Loren also star.
Gregory Poirier (National Treasure: Book of Secrets, The Spy Next Door) penned the script.
Keaton also produced the pic alongside Brookstreet’s Trevor Matthews and Nick Gordon and Sugar23’s Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta. Executive producers include Jonathan Saba, Carter Stanton, Jillian Kay, Nick Blasko, Wayne Carmona, David Gendron, Michael Hansen, Nate Holthouser, Andy Huang, Ali Jazayeri, Scott Lake, Eric London, Donald Povieng, Dina Randazzo, Ronald Richardson and Viviana Zarragoitia.
Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley negotiated the deal with CAA Media Finance and Verve Ventures on behalf of the filmmakers. FilmNation Entertainment reps international rights.
